The Arizona Hawks kick off the 2025 season
with back to back home wins!

The Arizona Hawks men and women kicked off their 2025 season at home in Mesa with a convincing win over the Orange County Giants. The Hawks men followed up at home under lights two weeks later with a win over the San Diego Lions - the Hawks first win over the Lions in the Sun and Surf Showdown since a victory in San Diego in the first showdown back in 2017! The Hawks benefitted from a rock solid defensive performance in both games, repeatedly repelling and quickly rebounding attacks from the opposition offenses. The Hawks midfield transitioned the ball smoothly with effective overlap handball and controlled passing feeding the forwards with plenty of scoring opportunities. In the end the Hawks demonstrated they wanted the ball more than the opposition, and the results were reflected on the scoreboard.

Next up, the Arizona Hawks women will travel to Sacramento, California, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, to compete in the California Cup. The Arizona Hawks will then look to build upon their strong start to the season when the men and women compete in the USAFL Western Regionals Tournament to be played in Westminster, Colorado, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Regular season practices are most Monday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:15 PM in North Phoenix, Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in Mesa, and non-gameday Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in Mesa. The locations vary so check out our Schedule page for details on all practices and games. New (or returning) men’s and women’s players are always welcome to join us at any practice and no previous footy experience is necessary!
